How to find the right photographer | Bergen County Photographer
I am assuming everyone Googles for everything, or ask Siri.
You Google, find some photographers in your area, open their websites, then what? Here are some important check points to find your dream photographer.
Style
If there are 10 photographers, there will be 10 different styles of how they capture you and how they edit images. Some process images into light and airy tones, some edit in real colors as you see in real life, some like blacker black, or slightly desaturated tones for timeless look (=me) . Those are their signature ‘style’, and since they speak through their work, they are ultimately their ‘voice’.
Also, do they take posed shots only, a mix (me!), or completely lifestyle without posed shots?
Make sure to pick a photographer with a style that speaks to you.
2. Website
Do you ever see websites that look like they haven’t been updated for a long time, or with a ton of broken links? Websites are like “stores” and “faces'“ on internet world for photographers. It’s the first encounter with their potential clients. You have to keep your website attractive, easy to navigate, show your personality and most importantly, showcase your best and latest work. Any working photographers should know that, and if you don’t get that vibe from their websites, that’s probably the kind of service you get.
3. Communication
As a next step you probably call or send an email asking for more information about a session you are interested in. If the photographer is actively working, she/he knows how important it is to get back to you promptly (in most case within 24 hours), and also do not waste your time by holding back pricing or any information. She/he would want to know more about you and why you want the session so she/he can give you the best results you want.
4. Client Reviews
Client reviews will show you how their experience was and these are from a client’s perspective, so you definitely want to check out how the process was, and the session went, and if the images were great, and IF there was a problem how the photographer worked to solve it.
